  • Communicate a clear and compelling vision of the future of the logistics line of business; ensure long term performance, sustainability and profitability through the development and implementation of strategies, policies and initiatives needed to bring the vision to fruition, while providing adequate financial returns.
  • Ensure strategies are executed in within Shippers Choice’s network; lead and direct all functions to ensure that all departments and staff execute at, or above the customer's standards.
  • Drive process improvements and growth in the logistics line of business while aligning company objectives.
  • Drive the development and cultivation of positive business relationships with the company's key logistics customers and vendors; direct pricing and performance reviews in order to identify service and revenue improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for business development, sales and marketing and new account development in all markets to ensure that maximum transportation revenue is generated for the division.
  • Review and evaluate P & L performance and analyze costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated business development goals and objectives.
  • Maximize profitability through superior customer service, effective and prompt communications and follow-up on all pending matters with the customer.
  • Evaluate Shippers Choice’s Carrier partner processes to ensure the company's contracts are competitive & compensatory and adequate carrier capacity is available to support our customers. Align products and services with Van, Flatbed, Reefer, LTL & other Services offerings.
  • Develop and manage the logistics operations budget and all related fiscal forecasting and planning activities.
  • Lead and provide administrative leadership to Shipper’s Choice team members; oversee and lead the professional development and productivity of all staff members to ensure proper goals, training, professional development and project requirements are met.
  • Provide for organizational continuity/synergy through contingency planning, employee engagement, training, and development. Provide support and ensure safe and ethical behavior; communicate and ensure adherence to department/company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by President.

  • Education: Baccalaureate from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience.
  • Experience Required: Ten (10) years’ experience in transportation industry/brokerage/third party logistics or supply chain management.
  • Successful Startup brokerage experience a huge plus
