Our client is a leading industrial products manufacturer located in the Newark, Delaware area.  We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for this progressive manufacturing facility.  This individual will be responsible for providing human resources expertise and management in the areas of labor relations, performance management, recruiting, retention, training and development, grievance handling, wage, benefits and salary administration, and affirmative action.   
  • Implement HR programs by providing HR services at the site including, union labor relations, employee relations, policy administration, benefits, training, recruitment, worker’s compensation and performance management.
  • Develop HR solutions by collecting and analyzing information, supervise audits
  • Develops programs for orientation, training, performance appraisals, personnel development plans and succession planning
  • Develops budget and forecasts and recommends programs and practices to establish and promote improvements that maintain a high level of employee moral
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management and employees.
  • Supervise and directs members of the HR team
  • Conduct interviews, administer appropriate testing and coordinate New Hire activities for exempt employees at the site.
  • Prepare documentation and reports on investigative activity and actions taken.
  • Maintains day to day relationships with plant employees including at the shop floor level
  • Provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to departmental officials such as working conditions, disciplinary actions and employee and applicant appeals and grievances.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:
  • 3 years minimum experience in a Human Resources Generalist Management role preferably at a unionized manufacturing site
  • Demonstrated human resources management experience including Labor Relations, Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, HRIS
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels
  • Strategic Human Resources experience
