Job Title:  Maintenance Manager
Reports To:  Operations Manager

Managing 3 Direct Reports 

1. Purpose:
  1. Lead the Maintenance Department
  2. Assist in capital projects
  3. Identify and implement process improvements.
2. Direct Reports:
Plant Hourly Maintenance personnel- 3 Direct Reports
3. Dimensions of Position:
  1.  Improvement of plant safety through the implementation of safety improvement opportunities and elimination of hazards
  2. Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).  The equipment effectiveness can be seen through departmental improvements in downtime as it relates to Maint.
4. Key Result Areas:
1)  Equipment downtime.  Measured through improvements in OEE.
2) Parts inventory and readiness.  Measured by critical spare parts matrix
3) Process Improvement.  Measured by OEE and Takt Time.

All Hourly Maintenance personnel Daily Coordinate daily work activities and schedule projects.
Materials Coordinator Daily Coordinate PM’s and projects with Production Schedule
Operations Manager Daily Coordinate maintenance needs vs budget, plant capital needs, downtime improvements, and process improvements

All Vendors and Suppliers As needed to perform the functions for Maintenance and Projects Search parts for equipment, secure quotes for facility and equipment

7. Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
8. Experience:
  • Manufacturing Maintenance
  • Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma
  • Capital Projects
  • Process Engineering
9. Knowledge:
        -Excellent mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical aptitude
        -Facilities Maintenance (buildings, piping, fire systems, heaters etc)
        -Preventative maintenance programs
        -Inventory management (pertains to spare parts)
        -Excellent Lead and supervisory experience
       - Ability to read drawings and diagrams
Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma
        -5S principles
        -Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
        -Changeover reduction
      - 8D/Root cause analysis/Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)/Process mapping
Capital Projects
        -Process Design
        -Vendor knowledge, selection
        -Equipment design and function knowledge
Process Engineering
        -Ability to learn manufacturing processes and offer improvements
