Maintenance Mechanic
  • Foods manufacturer that has 20+ facilities throughout the US.  They are adding mechanics to the Geneva and Chicago facilities because of acquiring another organization and expanding their current facilities
  • They are adding 7 Maintenance Mechanics across multiple shifts to their organization
  • Mechanics will train on day shift for 90 days and then move to either 1st shift or 2nd shift
  • Company offers 100% paid for benefits, stability, opportunities for advancement and tuition reimbursement
  • Local candidates only, visa sponsorship is not available
  • Examine, evaluate, and troubleshoot processing and packaging equipment
  • Perform repairs to equipment, machines using mechanical or electrical hand tools to adjust controls or replace defective parts
  • Establish and adjust maintenance priorities to minimize or eliminate down time
  • Confer with upper management as necessary to coordinate repairs and identify priorities
  • Establish and maintain an inventory of repair parts, tools, and expendable supplies needed for routine building and equipment maintenance
  • Preform installations, PM’s and project work to ensure the equipment is running efficiently and effectively
  • Other duties as assigned
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma required
  • Associates Degree or mechanical / electrical certifications are preferred
  • 3-10 years experience in the manufacturing field with solid skills in electrical and or mechanical troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of PLC's, ladder logic, servo motors, AC/DC motors and drives, specifically with changing out controls and upgrading controls on machinery is preferred
  • Experience with reading blueprints and schematics
  • Quick to solve problems and come up with solutions
  • Able to work on your feet, crawl into little spaces and climb ladders when necessary
  • Able to pass a background check
