We are currently looking for a Medical Operations Analyst for a highly rated Healthcare organization. This person will need to have an extensive knowledge of health care terminology and standard coding systems along with the experience of working within an analytic or reporting environment for Hospitals, Managed Care, Biotechnology, Insurance or Government programs.
The talented person for this opportunity will be well versed and experienced with ad-hoc SQL query development and scripting skills. Advanced knowledge of relational databases and MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio is a must have requirement for this role. Any experience with Analytical platforms such SAS, Stata, SPSS, Maple, Mathematica, or any other analytical platforms are highly preferred.
This individual will have strong Data Mining, ETL, Data Modeling as well as Validation Testing and Reconciliation abilities are required. You will also need to have experience Managing Projects and extensive Analytical background along with Technical Writing, Documentation and Presentation skills.
Responsibilities to include:
  • Collaborate with CMO, Medical Director(s), Program Manager(s), and other stakeholders to prioritize and define incremental medical management initiatives to address specific healthcare trends
  • Collaborate with CMO, Medical Director(s), Program Manager(s), and other stakeholders to understand savings methodologies to accurately assess the economic impact of new medical management initiatives
  • Perform data analyses using defined program metrics to measure, track, and forecast the operational impact of new and existing medical management initiatives and making recommendations to management.
  • Develop, build, and manage analytic core capabilities, drive a repeatable analytic process, and consistently deliver best-in-class reporting and analysis to business stakeholders
  • Assist with support of all programs, and other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience (insurance, managed care, hospital, biotechnology, or government programs) in an analytic or reporting environment is mandatory.
  • Master’s degree or above in a related discipline is mandatory; and should be in either a professional type, i.e., Business or Healthcare Administration, or scientific type, i.e., Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or Finance. Clinical experience is desired; hospital, biotechnology, government, or insurance settings are also desired.
  • Deep knowledge of managed care, including the medical management strategies and tactics used by payers
  • Knowledge of health care terminology and standard coding systems is mandatory. 
  • Strong ad-hoc SQL query development skills, advanced knowledge of relational databases and MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio is mandatory.  Experience with SAS, Stata, SPSS, Maple, Mathematica, or other analytical platforms is highly preferred.
  • Superior data mining, extraction, transformation, modeling, validation testing and reconciliation abilities are required.
  • Technical writing, documentation and presentation skills are mandatory. 
  • Ability to comprehend complex problems, generate solutions, and present reports and conclusions in highly dynamic business environment requiring adaptability, precision, and confidence.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Attention to detail, quick responses to emergent issues and satisfaction of high quality reporting and analytical standards are mandatory.
  • Proven project management, task management and execution management skills.  Demonstrate initiative and solution-generating skills, and work independently both in structured and unstructured project requests with minimal supervision.
