SENIOR SALES ENGINEER - INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION

This role is based in the Midwest Region and offers a company vehicle and the flexibility of working at home in either Kansas City or St. Louis. Territory to include Southern Illinois.

Under minimum supervision, you will execute a comprehensive sales effort focused primarily on securing new OEM customers for company in order to grow their revenue and increase market share. OEMs utilizing servo motion and variable frequency drives will be the primary target focus.
 
Position Duties and Responsibilities 
- Prospect for potential customers through various direct and indirect methods
- Develop target account plans outlining sales strategy specific for each account
- Quickly establish relationships with target accounts and develop sales opportunities
- Drive entire sales process from initial customer engagement through customer purchase order
- Effectively manage and utilize all available resources when seeking solutions for a customer opportunity
- Conduct product demonstrations, present technical information, and prepare proposals during sales process
- Work with Field Application Engineers to develop solutions that address customer needs
- Maintain a high level of machine automation knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with targets and customers
- Qualify prospects against company provided criteria for ideal customers and sales
- Establish and maintain ongoing interdepartmental relationships and communications within company.
- Utilize company CRM tool to report on sales activity and opportunities, and maintain prospect and account information. 
 
Travel Requirements 
25-40% Overnight within MO/KS territory
 
Required Skills
- 4 year Engineering Degree (BSEE, BSME) or equivalent experience
- 7-10 years OEM sales experience, prefer minimum 3 years’ experience as a Hunter
- Minimum of 3-5 years Solution Sales experience at End Users and OEM customers
- Product knowledge/application experience in PLC, VFD, HMI, Servo/Motion products
- Excellent track record developing large PLC, VFD, HMI, Servo/Motion OEMs

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid leadership skills
- Possesses organizational skills to manage schedule, travel and project management
- Computer proficiency; strong abilities with the following MS Office components: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
