We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Design Engineer capable of supporting complex projects from concept development through validation in the heavy equipment vehicle and/or automotive industry. Expertise in mechanical product design required (Housings, Assemblies, 3D modeling, FEA, qualification) with special interest in off-road vehicles and equipment, material handlers and/or electric energy.  Experience with heavy equipment construction vehicles or automotive industry experience greatly preferred.

Key Success Factors

  • Experience developing 3D renderings of heavy equipment vehicles and components (SolidWorks preferred) from requirements and initial concepts
  • Generate concepts based on internal & external requirements. Downselect & develop into a defined project using engineering best practices
  • Execute the program to validate (or invalidate) the feasibility of the concept, including design, analysis and optimization, prototype procurement, testing and refinement of the concept
  • Develop intellectual property capturing these new technologies as unique DANNAR products and components
  • Work with customers, both external and internal, to launch products into production as well as enhance existing production products 
  • In-depth understanding of hybrid and electric vehicle technologies
  • Learn and apply best practice engineering processes for construction equipment such as hydraulic lift arms, lift beds, electronics
  • Ability to collaborate and lead engineers

Qualifications

  • B.S. in related discipline required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience automotive or heavy equipment machine engineering with production experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in product design, development and qualification

Additional Qualifications

  • Production launch experience in the automotive industry preferred
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and CAE tools to develop & analyze designs
  • Ability to work independently in fast paced development environment
  • Effective oral and written communicator that can influence, motivate, negotiate, and collaborate internally and externally
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
