VP & GM - Switchgear & Field Services

Our client is a leading multi-faceted, privately-held company in the electrical services and equipment industry for energy generation companies and a wide variety of industrial markets.  With years proven performance in the market, the company offers a deep breadth of engineering and design services for custom product development as well as extensive services including: national field service, commissioning and preventive maintenance, as well as in-house repair and specialty OEM logistical services for both industrial customers and the energy generation industry.

The VP/GM directs and coordinates activities of multiple operational divisions of the business organization, and aids in formulating and administering organization policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.

Directs and coordinates activities of divisions for which responsibility is delegated to further attainment of goals and objectives.

Direct profit and loss accountability for responsible divisions, analyzing from financial growth and responsible for achieving business goals for revenue and earnings.

Actively upgrade the organization through the infusion of top talent into one's team through both selection and the coaching and development of current talent and addressing performance issues as needed.

Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.

Confers with corporate management and other management personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.

Serves as a member of management committees, as assigned.

Promotes organization in industry, community, manufacturing, professional, or trade associations.

Update staff of the progress of all major activities.

Ensure responsible divisions meet and maintain compliance with all EPA and OSHA regulations.

Non Essential Duties (Secondary) Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages 3-6 subordinate supervisors of employees in the Divisional Operations. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these divisions.
Also has the potential to directly supervise non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required, Master's Degree in Engineering or Business is preferred.

5-10 years of experience in manufacturing and/or field service industries.

3-5 years of experience and understanding of Lean and 6-sigma methodologies.

Legally authorized to work in the United States on an on-going basis, without company sponsorship.
